Do I need flowers for my ceremony and my reception?

Definitely not. But it does really depend on your vision and the venue. For example, if the venue has a beautiful ceremony space, it’s OK to skip over the archway backdrops. If the reception space is well considered and you like the vibe ‘as is’, it’s totally OK to not have flowers rambling through your entire wedding.

If your budget is limited, our first suggestion is to skip past the table florals and centrepieces and go with an abundance of tea lights (ideally one tea light per guest, but half that amount is OK too). Candlelight adds a huge amount of romance to the reception, without busting the budget!

How much do wedding flowers usually cost?

There is a lot of variability when it comes to wedding flower prices. At a minimum, we suggest allocating 10-15% of your total wedding budget to cover your wedding flowers.

If you’re after more ‘wow’ factor and have flowers be a significant component to the day (i.e. look like a Pinterest photo) we would recommend allocating 25-30% of your total budget to flowers.

Because we know how overwhelming planning a wedding is, we’re setting up a heap of useful planning tools on our website – including a wedding flower budget planner.

Do I need a theme or vision for my day?

Nope, not at all.  We do suggest that you do a little research and spend a few minutes on Pinterest to gather some inspiration photos. This helps you communicate your preferences and vision – even one or two inspiration photos can point us all in the right direction.

Don’t panic though, cause you definitely don’t need to have thought through every detail of your wedding and you certainly don’t have to know the names of the flowers.  We’ve worked on many events and know what looks good. We’re always happy to provide suggestions and options for ceremony and reception styling ideas as well.

How do I ensure my wedding flowers stay fresh throughout the day?

We’ll coordinate the delivery of your bouquets in the late morning, ideally right before the photographer arrives.

Our bouquets are professionally packed in tissue with a water source so they are well easy to take of until the moment you wanna run down the aisle.

It’s best to keep them in a cool, dark place – out of the way of potential heavy foot traffic.

Is there a minimum budget or spend?

We don’t have a minimum spend for wedding flowers but most of our clients spend $5,000-$8,000.

If you’re looking for a more low-key solution to your wedding flowers and want to save some money, be sure to check out our Ready-to-Order collection, coming soon, or send us a message.

How far in advance should I order my wedding flowers?

Most of our clients lock us in 6-12 months before their wedding date. But don’t stress if your wedding is less than 6 months away. We’d love to connect and work with you to bring a little bit of ‘wow’ to your wedding day.

What are the best flowers for a wedding bouquet?

The most traditional wedding flowers are roses, peonies, lilies, and hydrangeas. While these are timeless choices, there are 1,000s of other flower options available each and every season. Don’t be afraid to mix and match or explore other flowers that resonate with your personality and vision.

Here’s a list of our seasonal favourite flowers.

How does this whole wedding enquiry process thing work?

We’re on a mission to make planning your wedding flowers simple.

First things first, we have heaps of helpful tools on our website to help you feel confident about your budget and getting the best bang for your buck.

Plus, we talk through our approach to collaborating on the design of your flowers.

Once you submit an enquiry, we’ll confirm our team’s availability. From there, we’ll send you an online Design Q&A – this gives you a chance to tell us about you two, what matters to you most and what your priorities are.

We’ll send over a quick quote and recommendations on how to get the best bang for your buck.

To lock our team in, all we need is a 25% payment. We’ll get together (in person or on Zoom) 6-8 weeks prior to the big day and we can sort through all the final details.

Final payment is due 30 days from your wedding day.

What factors influence the cost of wedding flowers?

The biggest factor when it comes to your wedding flowers is the number of items on your wish list. It’s easy to overlook decisions like, a bigger bridal party means more flowers required. For example, you’ll want to budget more for flowers if you have 6 bridesmaids as compared to 2-3.

We know how confusing and overwhelming it is to try to figure out exactly how much to budget for your wedding flowers.  Here’s a really helpful blog post that gives you guidance on planning your budget for your wedding flowers.
